Dzi beads have a very interesting history and there are many myths about every aspect of them. The real Dzi bead is ancient and if authentic, extremely expensive and meaningful to Tibetans. (You won't find them on Etsy) These of course are modern manufactured beads from China. I have not seen any information about how they are made and all of the sellers that I see offer no explanation.
